Description
Cargille Immersion Oil is required for high magnification and to obtain sharp images with clear resolution. These Immersion oils meet ISO standards for quality.
Type A (low viscosity) and Type B (high viscosity) are used for normal microscopy applications with viscosities from 150-1250 (centistokes). The greater the gap between cover glass and objective, or condenser and slide, the more desirable high viscosity becomes. Type A and B are used for most fluorescent microscopy applications. Type A has a lower viscosity, which reduces any tendency to trap air causing image degradation and is easier to clean up. When there is larger gap between your cover slip and the objective, Type B is recommended. For extremely large gaps, NVH is required. Only use immersion oil with immersion oil microscope objectives.
